Goten (孫悟天, Son Goten)

is a protagonist in the Dragon Ball manga and the animes Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super. He is the younger son of the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series Goku and his wife Chi-Chi, making him a Saiyan and Human hybrid. Goten is Gohan's younger brother, and Trunks' best friend.




Goten's name literally means "Understanding the Heavens" as "Ten" can translate as sky or heavens. His name meaning is very similar to Goku and he was probably named in honor of him. This would make sense, considering how much Goten takes after his father.
